How to layer clothes in Autumn through to Winter.

Autumn is a season of vibrant colours, crisp air, and a sense of transformation in the world around us. It's the perfect time to experiment with your wardrobe and showcase your unique personal style.

In the lovely autumn season, I'm frequently asked, "How can I best wear boots with my jeans?". With all the new jeans styles out there, it can get a bit puzzling. Not too long ago, it was all about skinny jeans but nowadays, we've got straight leg, wide leg, flare, bootcut, and even cropped jeans. It's like a denim wonderland! So, how do you figure out which boots go best with which jeans?

Having healthy hair over fifty can take more effort to keep it shining especially if it’s coloured.  Like many women I found that my hair and skin gradually became drier over fifty and even more so after the menopause

How many times do we hear people say ‘I always take far too many clothes on holiday and only wear about half!’?  With a few simple, tips it really doesn’t have to be this complicated.

Are you going for an interview having recently been made redundant or decided to change career?

Maybe it’s been a few years since the last one and you’re not too sure how to present yourself.  Being analysed by an interviewer or panel can be a daunting prospect and you’ll be wanting to represent the best version of yourself.

Last year Davina Dosanjh reached out to me for assistance with updating her team's work wardrobes. As the owner of an optometrist practice, Davina wanted her team to dress as individuals instead of wearing the same uniform, while still maintaining a sense of unity that represented the company brand.

Recently I had a special experience working with two long-standing clients both who wanted help with their wardrobes as their hair had turned grey and they were feeling rather lost.

Men’s Changing Style

We began to see changes in men’s fashion before lockdown and the pandemic only brought further development. The suit and tie fell out of favour in business a few years ago due to the rise of button-down shirts combined with smart casual jackets and trousers. Following this, the jacket was often discarded and in many industries the polo shirt became popular.

Over the Christmas period we were pleased to receive two wedding invitations, one from friends and the other from my son and his fiancée. I’m now starting to search for outfits to wear as a wedding guest and as Mother of the Groom.

Recently I had a photo shoot with the fabulous photographer Suzanne Fells.  We chose Salford Quays for the setting as I spend time in the north, along with the fact that I love the cosmopolitan atmosphere and the calmness of the waterfront.

On the run up to International Women’s Day I have been thinking about who I now am as a woman.  I certainly feel different to the woman I was pre-lockdown.  Prior to last March I wore heels, fitted dresses and saw my clients in person.  I enjoyed visiting Europe and being a European but this and many of the things I identified with have been thrown into the air.

Many of my female clients initially tell me and often through tears, how they feel they have lost their body shape, their hair has changed, and their skin is now different.  In summary saying that they feel invisible, not attractive anymore, still want to look good but fear that it’s almost too late.

Having my colour analysis with Suzanne transformed my life. I was at a major transition point in my life and it gave me the confidence to move forward with a capsule wardrobe which has stood the test of time! Thank you!
