Recently I had a special experience working with two long-standing clients both who wanted help with their wardrobes as their hair had turned grey and they were feeling rather lost.

Originally I began working with these clients about ten years ago when they were in their forties, busy climbing the career ladder with teenage children at home.

As we chatted it became clear that turning 50 for a woman is a real mile-stone. We have passed our child bearing years but may still have grown up children at home, grandchildren to help look after along with elderly parents. Whilst juggling the family we often need to earn a good living and prove ourselves in the workplace with many years before we can retire.

Not only are 50 somethings busier than ever before but have little time to consider themselves so may struggle with their identity. Our skin and bodies change, we might decide to let our hair turn grey which can make us feel less visible and less feminine. As we now live in a youth culture turning 50 can encourage us to feel unattractive and unnoticed.

Some new ideas though, with a few simple changes will help us realise that it’s possible to still look fabulous.

If our hair turns grey we may need to wear brighter colours and make up and it’s exciting to review these colours.

Skin and hair require more hydration with different products. Maybe a new haircut would keep us looking modern and we don’t need to have a short masculine cut.

As our bodies possibly expand, exercise is even more important. I have been working with a Personal Trainer using FaceTime as I don’t have time to go to the gym. Just a few exercises in the morning and evening have given me much more flexibility and energy.

I really want to help ladies of a certain age who are struggling with their wardrobes, makeup, skin and hair. I will show them their individual best colours for clothes and makeup enabling them to look radiant and visible. Along with this we’ll look at how to put together a stylish and up to date wardrobe.

I can also recommend other talented professionals to advise on hair, skin and exercise.

Turning 50 doesn’t have to be the start of a downward spiral but the beginning of a wonderful new chapter!

Having my colour analysis with Suzanne transformed my life. I was at a major transition point in my life and it gave me the confidence to move forward with a capsule wardrobe which has stood the test of time! Thank you!
